A third-generation neutrality activist, Vana is a refugee of the Korean War and a passionate advocate for peace on the Korean Peninsula. Inspired by her grandfather's legacy in the Korean independence movement and her mother's lifelong activism, Vana has dedicated her life to promoting K-neutrality as a practical path to healing and reconciliation. 

Vana's journey is deeply intertwined with her family history. Her grandfather, Lee Jong-man, was a social entrepreneur in 1930's and a silent advocate for Korean neutrality in North Korea. In 2006, Vana and her mother, Ilsun, embarked on a pilgrimage to Pyongyang to visit his burial site, solidifying their shared commitment to achieving a unified Korea through peaceful means.
 

Vana's passion for peace is evident in her films, including "Sacred Mission Korea" (2007) and "Heart Connection" (2013), and her activism, such as actively participating the international women's peace walk "Women Cross DMZ" (2015) and leading a civilian group to Geneva & Vienna for a neutrality diplomacy (2022). She has also published her mother's autobiography, "Thus I Became Peace" (2010) and "Lee Jong-man's Life and Thoughts" (2023).

As a columnist at hanion.co.kr, Vana shares her spiritual teachings and insights on personal and national healing. With an Ed.D. in Philosophy of Education from Harvard, she brings a unique blend of academic knowledge and personal experience to her work, tirelessly advocating for peace by healing individual and collective wounds and fostering a unified, neutral Korea.
