Four Generations of Unity

LJM was a visionary social entrepreneur, and labor activist who shaped Korean history through his unwavering belief in a "Daedong society"—a harmonious community where all workers share prosperity. He bravely navigated the challenges of Japanese occupation, building schools to empower future generations and championing Korean independence.

Ilsun navigated the tumultuous events in Korea before seeking refuge in Brazil and settling in Canada. In Toronto, she was able to search for her father, and their reunion in Pyongyang marked a poignant moment of closure and a continuation of the family's story, one marked by resilience, courage and an enduring belief in a unified, neutral Korea.

Vana, driven by a lifelong commitment to unity and reconciliation, wrote and directed "Waterdrops Pierce the Rock" to inspire hope for a peaceful Korea. As a writer and columnist, she believes in the power of stories to bridge cultures and promote understanding. This film embodies her vision for a future where peace ripples outwards from individuals and families, encompassing the entire nation and, eventually, the world.

Una has been instrumental in guiding Vana through the challenges of ADHD and mild autism. Her unwavering encouragement to embrace practicality was crucial in bringing this project to fruition. Inheriting her grandmother Ilsun's business acumen, Una has fearlessly led the family through the uncharted waters of the entertainment world.
